What the fuck are we doing on this floating piece of rock 150 million km from a burning star anyway? And if the probability of existence is so infinitely improbable... we must be in a simulation? Wait, no. Existence is divinely beautiful. We're consciousness experiencing human form. But do not go too hard down that road because the highest form of existence (apparently) is to work in an office hot-desk situation under artificial light and synthetic plants for 8-10 hours a day, and if you don't do that, then what are you even doing with your life?

Since the beginning of time, artists have asked, 'What is the point?' while leaking into the void. Boss Bitch Art Club continues this noble tradition in the form of a group exhibition.

We don't have any profound musings on existence, but neither do you. We do have (pointless?) degrees in art and years of building professional art practices, specialising in expanded analogue photography. We believe art can create a shared experience. It connects us, comforts us, and lets us know we're not alone. Or we're genuinely self-absorbed. Still, maybe, just maybe, there's a world in which our art inspires a shared acknowledgment of dread and unified consciousness in the form of a smirk.

The only way to ease the suffering of existence is to infuse our art with silly goosness. If existence is a cosmic joke, then we return fire with jokes, jokes, jokes. Not necessarily funny jokes, but art in the form of a wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Boss Bitch Art Club is a collective of neuroqueers making art relating to identity and sociopolitics in this crazy ole' world. Their analogue photography practices spontaneously coalesced at NOIR Darkroom (2017-2021), founded and directed by members Jessica and Emma. Since then, the collective has successfully parallel-played their art practice into group exhibitions in 2023, 'Please Scream Inside Your Heart' Spontaneous Assembly and 2024, 'They Shoot Film' Library at the Dock.

I used to worry about body image until I realised it's just a flesh vessel for my smokin' hot consciousness.
